Dr. Sam outside his clinic in Ban Niang. This is 10 minutes north of Khao Lak near the market.
If you are visiting the Khao Lak area and see any street dogs or cats needing help or treatment, you can call Dr. Sam. He is open everyday except Wednesday but is available if there is an emergency.

In the last six months, Dr. Sam has spayed/neutered approximately 35 dogs which has been funded by All For Villages.

Bon Soon Primary School is located on Kao Khao Island near the village of Baan Nam Khem.
The Thai government now allows Burmese children to attend school in Thailand.
Many come from very poor families who are unable to provide uniforms.
All for Villages purchased two uniforms for "Paw", who is attending kindergarten.
This is his sister accepting the uniform from Amanda; Paw was sick on this day.

Takua Pa Hospital - Supporting those in Need

There is an almost free medical programme in Thailand (cost: 30 Baht/$1-00/visit). However, treament by some specialists, and transportation to major hospitals are not covered under this scheme.

All for Villages is working closely with Takua Pa Hospital and Dr. Chai to support those who otherwise would be denied the medical care they need. Many rural Thais are unable to afford just the transportation, or an MRI so we cover the gaps.

For example, a four year old boy diagnosed with cancer needed to go to Bangkok, a 10 hour drive away to see a pediatric oncologist. The family were unable to afford either the trip or the two days in Bangkok. All for Villages found the funds to cover these expenses for the family.

Street Dog Programme

There are hundreds of unwanted street dogs, suffering mange, disease and overbreeding. Our aim is to:

  • spay or nueter surgery to reduce the number of street dogs
  • vaccinate against rabies and parvo
  • treat for mange, worms and other diseases

Dr. Sam visits the local temples and attends to the dogs that are in the care of the monks and meichi (nuns)

The local monks care for people and animals in need in their community.

Introducing Dr. Sam

Meet Dr. Sam, our resident Vet in Ban Niang working with us on the street dog project.

All for Villages operates in the Khao Lak/Nam Khem area, approximately two hours north of Phuket Island.

Dr. Sam donates much of his time to our project. Here he is pictured taking one of the many street dogs back to his surgery to be sterilized.
