HIV Transmission Prevention in pregnant women.

This is the fifth woman in our program, with the nurse Khun June, and Amanda.  She recently delivered, and both she and her baby received the medication to prevent transmission of the virus, and now she receives the milk powder, both through our program.
A sixth woman has just enterd our program, and is due to deliver very soon! We are so happy to be able to give these women hope that their children will not be infected.

Takuapha Temple dogs get help.

Last Sunday I went with the vet, Dr. Sam to a different temple, in Takuapha.  It is spacious and beautiful, and as usual, has quite a lot of dogs.  The monks are willing to help us, so Dr. Sam went to work.  .  First he gave a shot to prevent pregnancy to a dog  that we could not do that day. He set up his operating table on the porch of a monk’s one room living quarters, and, with his assistant, Khun O, spayed three dogs. He also gave an antibiotic shot to a dog with a uterine infection.  Several hours later we left.  Next time I will bring dog food to supplement the mainly rice meals
